EOW Temporarily Shutting Down - Effective End of Day March 17, 2020
Equal Opportunities West (EOW) is committed to keeping everyone in our program safe and healthy.
That is why we have made the tough decision to temporarily shut down operations starting at 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice, due to concerns over COVID-19.
While this is a hard choice for us to make, we want to take every precaution in keeping everyone involved in our program safe and healthy during this pandemic.
We appreciate your understanding during this time and ask any stakeholders with questions to call us at 204-888-5422 or 204-228-4076.
In the meantime we are still asking our staff, participants and their parents/caregivers to continue to follow the guidelines set out by the World Health Organization, Centers for Prevention and Disease Control and the Provincial and Federal Governments, including:
- Thoroughly washing your hands
- Keeping your workplaces and homes clean and disinfecting surfaces
- Promoting good respiratory hygiene
- Consulting national travel advice
- Advising those who are sick to stay home or staying home yourself if you are sick
- Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth, especially with unwashed hands
- Minimizing contact with others in public
- Promoting coughing and sneezing into your sleeve and not your hands
- Avoid greetings that involve touching, such as hugs and high-fives
It is also important to look for the symptoms of COVID-19, including:
- Fever
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath and/or breathing difficulties
If you feel these symptoms or have any questions about them, call Health Links at 204-788-8200 and please stay home.
We thank you for your understanding. We hope you and everyone you know stays healthy and happy.
We will update you on the situation as more information becomes available to us.
